WHAT MAKES SWIMMING WITH THE ORIGINAL SWIMMER'S SNORKEL SO GOOD?
FINIS designed the first center-mount snorkel to take the hassle out of breathing and make it simpler for swimmers to focus on technique. The simple act of trying to time your breathe for your dominant side can cause all kinds of issues and uneven place extra strain on the body. Using this cracker of a design solves everything. Pop it on and breathe whenever you like. It can even help you increase lung capacity which means the Original Swimmer's Snorkel delivers comfort, efficiency and better yet, better results. You can butterfly like Madame Butterfly with oxygen on tap - the Original Swimmer's Snorkel works for freestyle, butterfly, and breaststroke and even stays put for flipturns.
Here's why you will love the FINIS Original Swimmer's Snorkel:
Using a swim snorkel means you are not always breathing to your dominant side which helps make your stroke is more balanced.
This is key for sprinters who need a smooth, kayak-like stroke turnover. Being able to turn your arms over quickly and evenly gives you a smooth stroke that maintains velocity.
For mid-distance and distance swimmers the benefits are in balancing out the workload across both sides of your body to avoid over-loading one side which can lead to injury and strain like swimmer's shoulder.
Swimmers naturally pick their head up when swimming freestyle. Swimming with our faces pointed at the bottom of a pool goes against our natural instinct to keep an eye on where we are going. This is not so much a bad habit as a matter of managing a human safety mechanism.
While using a snorkel won’t completely remove the need to pop up to find the wall, it does encourage you to keep looking down.
Swimmers who rock their heads from side to side while swimming freestyle you in for a soggy surprise. If you turn your head you dunk the tip of the snorkel into the water and it becomes like a straw.
This means a snorkel can help correct the wandering head and reinforce a straight-line from the top of your head to your ankles.
One of the most important aspects of fast swimming is keeping a straight body-line in the water. This includes keeping a straight head—something that the snorkel forces on you. It instills that propulsion comes from rotation of your hips and shoulders, and not wiggling your head around.
The comfortable mouthpiece is made from soft, flexible medical-grade silicone and there's an adjustable head bracket for quick strap adjustments and universal fit. There is also a one-way purge valve to allow water out of tube.
It's awesome, but don't take our word for it:
