Amnis Stream FAQs

How do I download music to my smartwatch?
Instructions for downloading music to your smartwatch are provided by your smartwatch brand or music provider. Please check their website or contact their customer service for specific questions. Links to instructions for popular smartwatch brands are in the device compatibility chart on FINISswim.com.

Can I wear my watch on my wrist so I can track my laps?
Your smartwatch must be within 5cm of the cord for the Bluetooth® connection to pass through the water. It’s best if your smartwatch is worn under your cap, or attached to your goggles with the watch clip.

Does my music need to be downloaded to my watch?
Yes. Download your preferred music or podcast app onto your smartwatch. The app must offer “offline listening” or the ability to download files. This is the same process you’d go through to listen to music in Airplane Mode.

Can I pause the music? Will it resume after?
Yes. To pause your music, press the multi-use button once. When you are ready for your Amnis Stream to play again, press the multi-use button again and it will resume.

How do I charge Amnis Stream?
Make sure your Amnis Stream is completely dry before charging. Insert the USB charger, then remove the Goggle Clip from the left headphone (the one without the buttons) and slide it into the charger (logo side down). The light is red while charging and green when fully charged.

How often do I need to charge?
Amnis Stream can last up to 5 hours of use, depending on volume level.

My battery isn’t lasting 5 hours. What do I do?
Turn down the volume on your watch or your Amnis Stream to increase your battery life.

How do the watch clips work?
Take the straps off your watch and slide the watch clip into place. Then attach it to your Amnis Stream and goggle strap. This creates the most secure placement for your watch.

Which watches are compatible?

Can I use watches other than Apple or Garmin?
Yes. Amnis Stream is compatible with any smartwatch with offline audio capabilities.

Do I need to have my cell phone nearby?
No, you just need a watch with offline audio capabilities.

Can you receive calls while swimming?
Yes, if you have cellular capabilities on your smartwatch. However, the device does not have a microphone, so the caller may not be able to hear you.

Battery level indicators

When Amnis Stream is powered on you will hear a verbal cue of “Low Battery”, “Battery Half Charged” or “Battery Charged”. The “Low Battery” cue repeats every 2 minutes when 15 minutes of playtime remain.

Setting up your smartwatch

Download your preferred music or podcast app onto your smartwatch. The app must offer “offline listening” or the ability to download files; this is the same process you use for listening in “airplane mode”. Refer to the music or podcast app’s guidelines on how to set up offline music on your smartwatch.

Pairing your smartwatch to Amnis Stream

1. Power Amnis Stream on. You will hear “Ready to Pair” and the blue light will flash rapidly.
2. On your smartwatch, open the Bluetooth® settings menu.
3. Select “FINIS Stream” to connect. You will hear “Device Connected” and a solid blue light will appear.

Attaching the headphones to your goggles

1. Put your goggles on.
2. Slip each headphone under your goggle strap, matching the L (left) and R (right) indicators.
3. Place the headphones in front of your ears, resting on your temple bones (not over your ears).
4. Optional: for a more secure fit, add the Goggle Clips to each headphone by matching up the logos. If you always use the Goggle Clips, it’s easier to attach Amnis Stream to your goggles before putting them on.

Attaching your smartwatch to your goggles

Your smartwatch must be within 5cm of the cord for the Bluetooth® connection to pass through the water. The best placement for your watch is on the crown of your head (the back of your top goggle strap). Watch clips are included for some popular smartwatches: Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4 (38mm, 42mm), and Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Series, Forerunner 645 Music and Vivoactive 3 Music. If you don’t want to use the watch clip, or you have a different watch, take your watch strap off and slip the watch beneath your swim cap. Do not wear your smartwatch on your wrist: the Bluetooth® connection cannot travel that far through the water.

Care instructions

1. After each use, rinse the device in cool, fresh water.
2. Pat dry.
3. Store in a cool, dry environment.
4. Do not leave the device in direct sunlight or a hot car, as this may cause damage.
