To calculate stroke rate, count the strokes you take with both arms in a lap. The fewer strokes, the longer your stroke distance or DPS.

I recently purchased 3 tempo trainers. When I push buttons B or C the screen does not change. This happens on all 3. all I see on the display is 1:03

Swimming to a pre-set 'beep' ensures a consistent stroke rate. It can be easily adjusted 'up' to increase tempo, or 'down' to lengthen stroke. I've found it a really helpful training device.

hello,
the tempo trainer is as i thought.
now it's always in my bag.. i always use it for1 o 2 exercices... mostly in freestyle.
But, one time i fixed it on the elastic of swimming goggles with the mecanichal support.. and i lost it in the pool... it fall down when i touched it to replace it.
i was loking fo it for almost 2h during my training. an old lady found it before i leave the swiming pool (great)
i think you should put another color- on it. it will be more visible in the pool.
and add in the notice that it is floating !
but, it's a great device. i will always use it

I hadn’t realised how interrupted my stroke rate was when I turn to breathe until I started using the tempo trainer. Now I’m finding it much easier to spot when I’m beginning to lag with my stroke and also keeps me on track stroke-rate-wise. Simple but effective! There are more features to it, but I’ve not used those yet.

I'm 68yo been stuck in my swimming a long time. I've always used the pace clock so didn't think the Finis timer would make a lot of difference but it has. I wouldn't swim pool laps without it. It has away of keeping you honest in the water and my times are coming down with more to come. Certainly recommended.
