Real Swim Problems & The Gear To Solve Them
At FINIS Australia, we live and breathe technique, innovation, and performance — but that doesn’t mean we can’t laugh at the everyday chaos in the pool. So we’re celebrating the "Real Swim Problems" every swimmer has faced, including the fails, the fumbles, and the flailing with the gear (and giggles) to help.
Problem 1: “Trying to Adjust Your Goggles Mid-Set Without the Coach Seeing”
You’re 50m into a 400m set, your goggles have decided to give you reverse vision (or fill with water), and Coach is watching like a hawk.
Cue the awkward one-handed goggle poke while trying not to stop or look suspicious.
The Fix: Our Low-Drag Racing Goggles are designed for comfort and stay-in-place suction — even when you turn like a torpedo.
Bonus: They look sleek enough to make your lane mates jealous.
Problem 2: “When Your Fin Flies Off During a Turn”
You nailed the push-off. You’re cruising… until your fin launches across the lane like a rogue boomerang. Now your squad is on a full-scale recovery mission.
The Fix: Our Long Floating Fins are buoyant, snug, and practically impossible to lose mid-turn. Still lose it? At least they float, mate.
Problem 3: “Wearing Paddles for the First Time Like… 🐢💀”
Ah yes, your first time with paddles. You slap the water. Your hands feel like frying pans. You’re convinced you're going backward.
The Fix: The FINIS Agility Paddles are strapless and self-correcting — meaning if your stroke is off, the paddle tells you.
No straps, no excuses. Just graceful evolution from turtle to torpedo.
Problem 4: “The Snorkel Snort of Doom”
You're mid-drill, focused, composed — and then you breathe at the wrong time. The snorkel floods. Your brain gets rinsed. Cue dramatic choking + splash fest.
The Fix: Our Original Swimmer's Snorkel reduces drag, improves alignment, and yes — makes surprise nasal irrigation less likely.
Problem 5: “Accidentally Splashing the Entire Pool Deck with One Turn”
When you forget you're wearing fins, and your dolphin kick hits tsunami mode. Now your coach, your teammate, and the lifeguard are drenched.
The Fix: Not much we can do here… but hey, if you’re gonna make waves, make them with confidence. 😎
Bottom Line?
Swimming isn’t just about serious sets, personal bests, and streamlined performance. It’s also about the awkward, chaotic, totally relatable moments that bond us all. So whether you’re losing a fin or snorting water mid-snorkel, we’re here for it.
